Head of a team of 4 piping engineers + 1 stress analysis engineer (piping) and have been working on this project for 8 months.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the requirements of the Client are known and complied with in the work performed; Carry out design work by the agreed project schedule.
- Design 3D models of process equipment (tank farms, pumping and filtration station, drain vessels, railcar loading/unloading rack, etc) using Intergraph Smart3D.

- Design 3D models of process equipment (Sulphur melting tanks, Sulphur leaf filters, Polishing filters, Clean sulphur tanks, etc.) using Intergraph Smart3D.
- Development of 3D models for the HVAC
- Design 3D models of process pipelines using Intergraph Smart3D.
- Creation of such documents as piping isometrics, piping BOM (MTO), 2D piping drawings, etc. using Intergraph Smart3D and Autodesk AutoCAD

In this project, challenges were connected with jacket pipelines (sulphur within) that had to be routed throughout the plant on common piperacks. Special platforms had to be added to the pipe rack for servicing jacket lines, supplying steam, and removing condensate from them.

This project was located in the Arctic region and included Gas Sweetening Unit and Sulfur Recovery Unit. Taking into account extremely difficult weather conditions and the remote location of the refinery, these units were divided into 24 skids transported by train and then assembled on-site.
