Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with a strong defense-side background to support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation. This role requires someone who understands the full litigation lifecycle, can independently manage case progression, draft substantive pleadings, handle large volumes of discovery, and confidently support billable time documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and capable of working independently while collaborating closely with attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings including complaints, answers, motions, and discovery requests/responses
  • Manage cases from inception through trial preparation
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court schedules
  • Prepare and organize large-scale document productions and discovery materials
  • Conduct background reviews and case investigations
  • Maintain case files and ensure compliance with procedural rules and deadlines
  • Support billable time tracking by crafting detailed time entry narratives
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
  • Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, and deposition summaries

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience (defense-side strongly preferred)
  • Strong background in discovery (requests, responses, document production)
  • Experience drafting substantive pleadings (complaints, motions, discovery)
  • Experience supporting billable time entry and understanding billing narratives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple active cases independently
  • Strong organizational skills with experience handling high document volume
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Drafting - must independently draft pleadings such as complaints, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Billing experience
