The work will involve optimizing communication across multiple OSI layers and leveraging advanced low-power Wi-Fi technologies, such as Wi-Fi 6E, UDP, multicast, and Target Wake Time (TWT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize ultra-low-power Wi-Fi systems for wearable medical devices that interface with implants and external computers.
- Implement Wi-Fi 6E features such as UDP multicast, TWT, and other low-power communication protocols to enable efficient, reliable data streaming.
- Work across multiple network layers to ensure robust and efficient communication between the wearable device, implants, and external systems.
- Collaborate with a diverse R&D team, contributing to the integration of the wireless solution into the larger product architecture.
- Optimize power consumption and bandwidth use to meet stringent device requirements for battery life and performance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Cortex/Cortex-M SoC programming, with a focus on ultra-low-power communication systems.
- Deep understanding of Wi-Fi technologies, including low-power Wi-Fi protocols and Wi-Fi 6E capabilities (e.g., TWT, multicast, etc.).
- Experience with nRF7002 and nRF54 or similar SoCs, specifically for low-power Wi-Fi applications.
- Familiarity with Qualcomm chipset SDKs and low-power wireless communication in embedded systems.
- Proficient in developing across multiple OSI layers, especially in optimizing wireless communication at the physical, data link, and transport layers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with wearable and/or medical devices.
- Knowledge of embedded systems in power-constrained environments.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded wireless stacks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment with a focus on innovation and delivering solutions that significantly impact users' lives.
Team Environment:
You will join a leading US-based R&D team working on breakthrough wearable technology that communicates with both implants and external computing devices. This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals by enhancing their independence and mobility through advanced, low-power connectivity solutions.
