Job Overview
Join an international distributed Agile team to build and enhance modern back-end solutions based on cloud platforms, microservice architecture, and high-performance distributed systems. You will contribute to solution architecture, technical decision-making, and the full software development lifecycle while working closely with engineers, architects, QA specialists, project managers, and clients.
This role combines hands-on development with architecture, code quality, testing, and continuous improvement, offering the opportunity to deliver scalable solutions and influence both technical direction and engineering processes.
What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities
- Develop back-end components to meet business requirements using modern software development practices, including cloud-based platforms and microservice architecture.
- Participate in application architecture design, technical decision-making, solution development, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Develop and review feature design documents, contribute to solution specifications, and implement comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Proactively contribute to solution development, engineering process improvements, and maintain high coding standards, software best practices, and highly testable, automatable, and performant code throughout the SDLC.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, QA engineers, stakeholders, and clients on a daily basis to clarify requirements and support Scrum processes.
- Deliver product roadmap objectives and participate in planning activities.
- Troubleshoot, profile, debug, refactor, and continuously improve complex applications, platforms, and microservices.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience, including 3+ years of Java development and 2+ years of experience with Spring Boot Framework, Hibernate ORM, testing frameworks (JUnit, PowerMock, WireMock), and relational databases.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including OOP, SOLID, DDD, TDD, BDD, algorithms, data structures, database theory (RDBMS, NoSQL), architectural and design patterns, code testing practices, security patterns, OWASP, and reverse engineering resistance.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, REST and RPC conventions, authentication and authorization flows, OAuth, JWT, and related standards.
- Strong Java expertise, experience with high-performance and high-load systems, Kotlin, reactive programming using Spring Boot Reactor, and Domain Driven Design.
- Commercial experience with REST API development, Redis or Memcached, messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus, Google Pub/Sub), web servers, Git, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure), CI tools (GitLab Pipeline, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo), and build tools.
- Experience with software architecture design, microservices, Agile development, code reviews, refactoring, troubleshooting, profiling, and debugging complex applications.
- Practical Node.js and TypeScript experience for AWS Lambda development, with at least several months of strong commercial experience (more preferred), and Fluent or Upper-Intermediate English.
Nice-to-Have
- Linux command line proficiency, Kubernetes, and general operational (Ops) experience.
- AWS services experience, including Aurora, Lambda, Step Functions, and other AWS components.
- Java, Spring Framework, or cloud platform certifications (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm, as well as deployment patterns.
- Commercial experience with serverless architecture, third-party integrations, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, CouchDB), search engines (Elasticsearch, Azure Search, Apache Solr), infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform, Ansible), and code quality tools such as SonarQube.
