SAP Basis Consultant with PI Knowledge

Project Duration 

We are looking for a SAP Basis Consultant with PI Knowledge to improve the stability and availability of SAP System PP2 for a fashion marketing agency.

Description of the task/issue

Recently, we have had multiple PRIO1 incidents in the SAP system PP2. 

The system or certain system services stopped working, which always had a critical impact on our business processes. Therefore, the system's stability and availability must be improved.

All incidents are documented in Jira, and the tickets are linked to this Service Request. In addition, some measures have already been implemented or are currently planned.

The following tasks are requested to be performed:

• Start by reviewing the past incidents, RCA reports, and actions already performed
• Analyze the system with the following scope:
  
  • Errors in the log files
  • Check monitoring alerts
  • Errors in message processing
  • Analyses with Wily Introscope
  • Check for tuning opportunities according to the SAP PI Tuning Guide
  • Perform a message load analysis, 
  • Create a summary report with findings and solutions
  • Propose an action plan with measures and target dates to stabilize the system.
  • Sync about the planned tasks and target dates.
    
    

Requirements

• SAP Basis administration of SAP Java Stack PI systems, release 7.31
• SAP Basis administration of SAP Double Stack PI Systems, release 7.00
• SAP PI Basis application configuration and monitoring, especially:
  
  • Java process configuration and monitoring (processes and threads utilization, system utilization: Server Nodes & Instance utilization like CPU, memory, garbage collection)
  • Configuration and monitoring of SAP PI specific basis parameters: Connection Factory, RFC parameters, Configure load balancing for cross-system communication, Java PI service parameters)
  • Analyzing Java Log Viewer (Expert View)
• Monitoring PI Message transfers and analyzing technical issues (IDOC, SOAP, RFC, http/s, FTP error messages)
• Experience in supporting PI application teams to solve technical issues
• Strong error analysis skills, together with a structured approach to performing RCA analyses and implementing measures to improve system availability
• Strong skills in working independently in terms of responsibility, ensuring system availability (proactively monitoring the systems, identifying measurements to improve system availability and performance, plan & implement improvements in alignment with system owners and application teams)
