Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) expert to design, deploy, manage, and optimize virtual desktop infrastructures within Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will hold the AZ-140: Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop certification and have hands-on experience with enterprise-scale AVD environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable and secure Azure Virtual Desktop environments;
Configure and manage host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and application groups;
Integrate AVD with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Group Policy for secure identity and access management;
Automate deployments using ARM templates, Azure Resource Manager, or Bicep;
Ensure high availability and performance using scaling plans and load balancing;
Optimize user experience using monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and AVD Insights;
Implement conditional access, role-based access control (RBAC), and security baselines for AVD;
Work closely with networking and security teams to design secure virtual networks and perimeter protections;
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AVD performance, profile management, and application delivery.

Key requirements:

Proven experience (3+ years) working with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in enterprise environments;
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure components (e.g., networking, identity, storage, compute);
Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing AVD deployments;
Proficiency with Windows Virtual Machines, Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD);
Solid understanding of FSLogix, profile management, and multi-session Windows 10/11;
Scripting experience with PowerShell for automation and configuration;
Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of virtual desktop environments;
Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructures;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Fluency in German (B2 or higher) is mandatory.

Nice to have:

Microsoft certifications related to Azure (e.g., AZ-140, AZ-104);
Experience with Citrix or VMware Horizon;
Familiarity with hybrid environments.
